Spectators: 7760 (Terracing: 5821, Seating: 1785, VIP seats: 154) Gottlob's Narcis Mardare started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th match minute, MZ Rapid was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bogdan Tache to maneuver through the defense. Gottlob's Horia Georgescu got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cătălin Chinezu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Narcis Mardare in the 16th minute. Narcis Mardare could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Cătălin Chinezu made a huge save. When Marius Drăghincescu fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MZ Rapid's protests and gave Marius Drăghincescu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to MZ Rapid getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Marius Drăghincescu hit a great ball. In the 19th minute, Narcis Mardare left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gottlob fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 23rd minute, Bogdan Tache made a precise shot to the right of Marcel Bilașco. Gottlob's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. 25 minutes into the match, Gottlob's goal looked a bit too open when Bogdan Tache came free, but Marcel Bilașco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 31st minute Marius Drăghincescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcel Bilașco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Horia Georgescu hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Sandu Astafei charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sandu Astafei the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 32 played minutes MZ Rapid got a freekick which was hit by Sandu Astafei. 35 minutes into the match, Gottlob's Narcis Mardare sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cătălin Chinezu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Gottlob booed when MZ Rapid was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marius Drăghincescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Narcis Mardare struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Cătălin Chinezu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gottlob. Cătălin Chinezu was out of position in the 39 minute of play, and Narcis Mardare capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Narcis Mardare really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. In the 42nd minute Petru Huștea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcel Bilașco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcel Bilașco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bogdan Tache, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Petru Huștea to make the kick off. Petru Huștea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcel Bilașco having to interfere. MZ Rapid's Cătălin Chinezu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Narcis Mardare in the 70th minute of play. Cătălin Chinezu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Narcis Mardare, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Bogdan Tache received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Marcel Bilașco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Mihnea Şerbănescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 87 minutes into the match, MZ Rapid's goal looked a bit too open when Narcis Mardare came free, but Cătălin Chinezu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cătălin Chinezu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Narcis Mardare's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. After 89 played minutes MZ Rapid got a freekick which was hit by Nicolae Boroneanț. Cătălin Chinezu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Narcis Mardare in the 92nd minute of play. Marcel Bilașco didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bogdan Tache went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score.
