Cristian Racoviceanu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Teodor Nacu made a huge save. 15 minutes into the game, Petruț Nițisor threw the ball into play from the sideline. Schiaul's Basarab Traianescu quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sergiu Pisculescu in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emanuel Stroie saved Galesul FC from getting behind. Emanuel Stroie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergiu Pisculescu in the 18th minute of play. In the 19th minute, Anton Rogozea made a precise shot to the right of Teodor Nacu. Schiaul's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. After 23 minutes of play, Schiaul's Liviu Mavrogheni made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Emanuel Stroie was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Horea Cucerdean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 31 minutes, Petru Panțuru mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Galesul FC and the Schiaul players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Galesul FC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Petru Panțuru hit a great ball. Horea Cucerdean struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Emanuel Stroie didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Schiaul. After having played for 36 minutes, Cristian Racoviceanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galesul FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Racoviceanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emanuel Stroie came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Schiaul's Sergiu Pisculescu. But to his dismay, Sergiu Pisculescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Anton Rogozea made a kick off. Teodor Nacu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anton Rogozea, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Schiaul's Teodor Nacu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Racoviceanu in the 55th minute of play. Emanuel Stroie made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sergiu Pisculescu in the 58th minute. In the 59th minute, Schiaul's Mădălin Şoimaru ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Emanuel Stroie. Emanuel Stroie yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Anton Rogozea struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Teodor Nacu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Galesul FC. When Leonides Poz came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Schiaul fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leonides Poz couldn't finish the play. After 77 minutes of play, Schiaul's Ştefan Mutu made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Emanuel Stroie was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sergiu Pisculescu's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Emanuel Stroie firmly grabbed it by the left post. Sergiu Pisculescu succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-5 in the 81st playminute. Emanuel Stroie made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sergiu Pisculescu in the 85th minute. After 85 minutes, Cristian Racoviceanu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Galesul FC and the Schiaul players grew even worse after the yellow card. The Schiaul supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Schiaul would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
