The supporters of Schiaul booed when FC Valea Dragului GR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernest Ogășanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Liviu Mavrogheni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 14 minutes in the game, Sever Balaban fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Teodor Nacu having to interfere. Schiaul's Teodor Nacu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Schiaul from getting a goal against them. Leonides Poz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 22nd minute, Liviu Mavrogheni hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Teodor Nacu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dragoş Ghimiș, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Liviu Mavrogheni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 31 minutes into the game, Leonides Poz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Petruț Ghețea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sever Balaban sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. After having played for 45 minutes, Liviu Mavrogheni managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Schiaul's supporters crossed their fingers, but Liviu Mavrogheni was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sergiu Pisculescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Petruț Ghețea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

After a defensive mix-up in Schiaul's zone, Sever Balaban stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Teodor Nacu came out of the goal and Sever Balaban tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sever Balaban charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sever Balaban the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, FC Valea Dragului GR's Sever Balaban got a free kick in the 54th minute. Ştefan Mutu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sergiu Pisculescu in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Petruț Ghețea prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sergiu Pisculescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Petruț Ghețea made a huge save. In the 63rd minute, Adrian Caragea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 68th minute, Leonides Poz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in FC Valea Dragului GR's zone, Sergiu Pisculescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Petruț Ghețea came out of the goal and Sergiu Pisculescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Sergiu Pisculescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Leonides Poz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Schiaul's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonides Poz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Petruț Ghețea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
