Horea Cucerdean blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Iacob Mărculescu having to make a save. Horea Cucerdean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Iacob Mărculescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 13th minute, David Ştefănică hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcu Chinezu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Schiaul getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Liviu Mavrogheni hit a great ball. Basarab Traianescu kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. In the 25th minute, Leonides Poz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Iacob Mărculescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Teodor Nacu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grigore Grecu in the 32nd minute of the match. Liviu Mavrogheni might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Iacob Mărculescu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Liviu Mavrogheni ran back to his position shaking his head. Iacob Mărculescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mădălin Şoimaru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sergiu Pisculescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Teodor Nacu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Grigore Grecu, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 57th minute, Alex Murgan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leonides Poz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iacob Mărculescu having to interfere. Schiaul's Liviu Mavrogheni got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mădălin Şoimaru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by David Ştefănică during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. David Ştefănică kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. In the 73rd minute, Leonides Poz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ştefan Mutu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 82 played minutes -BZF-INTER STEAUA CANESTI got a freekick which was hit by Leontin Lăceanu. Iacob Mărculescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Liviu Mavrogheni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 86 minutes, Mădălin Şoimaru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Schiaul's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mădălin Şoimaru was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Iacob Mărculescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leonides Poz went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 95th match minute, -BZF-INTER STEAUA CANESTI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mugurel Păunescu to maneuver through the defense. In the 96th minute of the match Sergiu Pisculescu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Iacob Mărculescu skillfully saved the ball. There was no doubt that Schiaul were the better team. Schiaul's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
