The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Basarab Trăilă during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Basarab Trăilă hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Laurențiu Negulescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mihnea Chitila in the 7th minute of the match. Aurel Sabău charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aurel Sabău the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 8 played minutes Dulesti got a freekick which was hit by Aurel Sabău. Dacian Brăescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basarab Trăilă in the 11th minute of play. Luncasul's Dacian Brăescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Luncasul from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ioan Ionașcu in the 20th minute of play forced Dulesti's goalkeeper Laurențiu Negulescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Luncasul booed when Dulesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Liviu Iurașcu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luncasul's Dacian Brăescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Luncasul from getting a goal against them. In the 36th match minute, Dulesti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basarab Trăilă to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Dulesti's Mădălin Stegaru got a free kick in the 39th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgar Tătaru in the 40th minute of play forced Dulesti's goalkeeper Laurențiu Negulescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Luncasul's Dacian Brăescu got control of the ball when Tudor Turdeanu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luncasul's Ioan Ionașcu got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edgar Tătaru stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Edgar Tătaru struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Tudor Manole's late challenge caught a Luncasul's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tudor Manole helped the player get up and apologised. In the 69th minute Edgar Tătaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laurențiu Negulescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tudor Turdeanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Aurel Sabău managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dulesti's supporters rose to their feet, but Aurel Sabău was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dacian Brăescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 81stth minute of the game Basarab Trăilă who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Luncasul's Dacian Brăescu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Laurențiu Negulescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ioan Ionașcu in the 86th minute. Dacian Brăescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basarab Trăilă in the 87th minute of play. A collision led to Dulesti getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Mădălin Iorgulescu hit a great ball. Basarab Trăilă fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dacian Brăescu having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Dulesti's Sabin Tăgorean got a free kick in the 97th minute. Dulesti succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Luncasul had controlled the match.
