When Gigi Vermeşan fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rapid București's protests and gave Gigi Vermeşan a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Rapid București's Gigi Vermeşan got a free kick in the 38th minute.
