Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eric Brânzaru in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lucrețiu Stafie prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 31st minute, Denis Cozorici got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eric Brânzaru's late challenge caught a Barbutza's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eric Brânzaru helped the player get up and apologised. In the 35th minute, Eric Brânzaru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mugur Geantă got free with Dinu Cârneci in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 40th minute, Ilie Mocanu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Barbutza fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Ilie Mocanu hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Dinu Cârneci showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mugur Geantă in the 47th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eric Brânzaru stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Toader Cornoiu kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. 62 minutes into the match, Barbutza's goal looked a bit too open when Eric Brânzaru came free, but Lucrețiu Stafie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Denis Cozorici received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Dinu Cârneci tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
