Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ovidiu Popete in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ion Gogu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of FCC ICIM Arad booed when Podenii was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Călin Oneț didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 6th minute of the match Valer Câmpeanu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ion Gogu skillfully saved the ball. With a little luck, FCC ICIM Arad's Irinel Cângea got control of the ball when Niccolo Ciobica tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Podenii fans' excitement grew in the 29th match minute when Podenii's Niccolo Ciobica looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Corneliu Astafei received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Ion Gogu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andrei Grozuță kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. 44 minutes into the match, Corneliu Astafei notched a goal, 2-4, to the right of Podenii's Ion Gogu. Ion Gogu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Ovidiu Popete had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Corneliu Astafei in the 53rd minute of play forced Podenii's goalkeeper Ion Gogu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Irinel Cângea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niccolo Ciobica, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Niccolo Ciobica scored 4-5 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Irinel Cângea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched FCC ICIM Arad eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
