Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Radu Panaite started the match with the kick off. After 3 minutes, Ivan Pavelescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the christian team and the Steaua Bucuresti players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to christian team getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Ivan Pavelescu hit a great ball. Steaua Bucuresti's Radu Panaite got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 9 minutes into the match, Steaua Bucuresti's goal looked a bit too open when Fabian Pamfil came free, but Valer Corduneanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Radu Panaite could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Marius Balint made a huge save. Ivan Pavelescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sever Chelaru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Marius Balint tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 18 minutes of play, christian team's Ivan Pavelescu made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Valer Corduneanu was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 25th minute Fabian Pamfil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valer Corduneanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 30 minutes into the match, Steaua Bucuresti's Radu Panaite sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marius Balint narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Basarab Neicu got free with Marius Balint in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marius Balint was out of position in the 36 minute of play, and Sever Chelaru capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Sever Chelaru really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Valer Corduneanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mihai Durbac, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Mihai Durbac's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valer Corduneanu was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. christian team were awarded a corner in the 43th minute after Steaua Bucuresti's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sorin Rădescu took the corner. The audience thought a goal was coming when Radu Panaite got free with Marius Balint in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After the first half christian team were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When Basarab Neicu came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Steaua Bucuresti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basarab Neicu couldn't finish the play. After 60 minutes of play, Steaua Bucuresti's Radu Panaite made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marius Balint was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ilie Buceceanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Valer Corduneanu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mihai Durbac in the 70th minute. Marius Balint stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sever Chelaru's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Basarab Neicu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Radu Panaite, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 77 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Marius Balint was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. A hard shot 81 in the game by Ivan Pavelescu from a close distance when the talented Valer Corduneanu managed to make a qualified save. Steaua Bucuresti's players were relieved. After a defensive mix-up in christian team's zone, Ilie Buceceanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marius Balint came out of the goal and Ilie Buceceanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Iulian Ungheanu might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Valer Corduneanu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Iulian Ungheanu ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 88th minute, Ivan Pavelescu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Valer Corduneanu was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. The supporters of Steaua Bucuresti booed when christian team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iulian Ungheanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in christian team's zone, Radu Panaite stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marius Balint came out of the goal and Radu Panaite tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marius Balint made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Radu Panaite in the 94th minute of play. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind christian team's goalkeeper Marius Balint, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
