Spectators: 7154 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 154) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ionel Roşu started the match with the kick off. Marcel Jupâneanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Ionel Roşu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ivancauti's supporters rose to their feet, but Ionel Roşu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teodor Budișteanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 9 minutes into the match, Racul's goal looked a bit too open when Marcel Jupâneanu came free, but Teodor Budișteanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 10 minutes Racul's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Aurel Cipău who took care of the corner kick. 13 minutes into the match, Ionel Roşu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Teodor Budișteanu. Racul's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ionel Roşu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. When Ivancauti's Ionel Roşu in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Racul's goalie prevented a goal. After some careless play in the Racul defense, Marcel Jupâneanu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Teodor Budișteanu. The Racul fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Teodor Budișteanu should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Toader Enășoiu got free with Leonard Mircescu in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Leonard Mircescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Călin Calciu in the 32nd minute of play. In the 34th match minute, Racul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ionuț Luțu to maneuver through the defense. 41 minutes into the match, Racul's goal looked a bit too open when Ionel Roşu came free, but Teodor Budișteanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Călin Calciu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonard Mircescu having to interfere. In the 46th match minute, Racul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dorin Munteanu to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Călin Calciu to make the kick off. A collision led to Ivancauti getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Aurel Cipău hit a great ball. 65 minutes into the match, Racul's goalkeeper Teodor Budișteanu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ionel Roşu. A hard shot by Aurel Cipău from long distance, 67 minutes into the match, got Teodor Budișteanu's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ionel Roşu in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Teodor Budișteanu saved Racul from getting behind. 74 minutes into the match, Racul's goal looked a bit too open when Ionel Roşu came free, but Teodor Budișteanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 76 minutes, Ionel Roşu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ivancauti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ionel Roşu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 80 minutes, Daniel Stamate mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Racul and the Ivancauti players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Racul fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 79th minute. Penalty! Teodor Budișteanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ionel Roşu in the 84th minute of play. After 86 played minutes Racul got a freekick which was hit by Dorin Munteanu. Teodor Budișteanu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ionel Roşu in the 87th minute. Ionel Roşu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teodor Budișteanu having to interfere. Racul's Teodor Budișteanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Corneliu Purcaru in the 94th minute of play. Ionel Roşus short, quick shot in the 95thth minute got Teodor Budișteanu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Dinu Lupulescu kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match.
