If Călin Calciu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind FCDB's goalkeeper Aurelian Nicea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mircea Huidu charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mircea Huidu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Mircea Huidu hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

FCDB's Aurelian Nicea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Călin Calciu in the 75th minute of play. Teodor Budișteanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Liviu Mercescu in the 81st minute of the match. Adrian Bacalu charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adrian Bacalu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 82nd match minute, Racul was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Bacalu to maneuver through the defense. After 83 played minutes Racul got a freekick which was hit by Dorin Munteanu. In the 84th minute, Toader Enășoiu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 86th minute Liviu Mercescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teodor Budișteanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Teodor Budișteanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Liviu Mercescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 93 minutes into the match, Liviu Mercescu notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Racul's Teodor Budișteanu. Teodor Budișteanu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
