To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 78th minute, Alin Hrebenciuc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience held their breath when Codruț Amarandei in the 80th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Marcel Calota's left hand side. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Sorin Corbeanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Straoane's supporters rose to their feet, but Sorin Corbeanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aurelian Nicea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. FCDB played a much better game than Straoane and deserved their victory. The Straoane players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
