Spectators: 6770 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1770, VIP seats: 0) Dumitru Oprișan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matei Florean in the 5th minute of the match. In the 8th minute, Mugur Stoicu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Borospatak SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 15th minute Sebastian Stejaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rareș Gherghescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mugur Stoicu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Rareș Gherghescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sebastian Stejaru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rareș Gherghescu having to interfere. Mugur Stoicu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dragoş Boieru recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rareș Gherghescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mugur Stoicu, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Dinu Găman kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute Mugur Stoicu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rareș Gherghescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Mugur Stoicu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sebastian Stejaru in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rareș Gherghescu saved Cardaol from getting behind. In the 36th minute Mugur Stoicu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rareș Gherghescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cardaol's Rareș Gherghescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mugur Stoicu in the 40th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Matei Florean to strike the kick off in the second half. After 55 played minutes Cardaol got a freekick which was hit by Dinu Găman. 56 minutes into the game, Borospatak SC's Mugur Stoicu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rareș Gherghescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After 63 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Borospatak SC! In the 66th minute there was a penalty for Cardaol. Emilian Iurea stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Dumitru Oprișan. 1-2. When Dragoş Boieru came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Borospatak SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dragoş Boieru couldn't finish the play. Toader Doinaș fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rareș Gherghescu having to interfere. 81 minutes into the match, Borospatak SC's goal looked a bit too open when Codruț Protase came free, but Dumitru Oprișan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Toader Doinaș got free with Rareș Gherghescu in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cardaol's Matei Florean got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Cardaol fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Borospatak SC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
