Ionel Taşcă fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurelian Nicea having to interfere. 7 minutes into the match, Ionel Taşcă had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aurelian Nicea. FCDB's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ionel Taşcă was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The supporters of Dodocani UFC booed when FCDB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Codruț Amarandei didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aurelian Nicea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Costin Cămărășan in the 12th minute. Costin Cămărășan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aurelian Nicea having to make a save. 22 minutes into the game, Vlad Tănase was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FCDB's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dodocani UFC the free kick. The supporters of Dodocani UFC booed when FCDB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vlad Tănase didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24th minute, Mircea Huidu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When FCDB's Liviu Mercescu in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Dodocani UFC's goalie prevented a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ionel Taşcă got free with Aurelian Nicea in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 37 minutes into the match, Dodocani UFC's goal looked a bit too open when Ciprian Manolache came free, but Ştefan Zăhărescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ştefan Zăhărescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vlad Tănase in the 38th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vlad Tănase in the 39th minute of play forced Dodocani UFC's goalkeeper Ştefan Zăhărescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aurelian Nicea was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ionel Taşcă showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 48 minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ionel Taşcă to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Dodocani UFC's goalkeeper Ştefan Zăhărescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vlad Tănase. With a little luck, Dodocani UFC's Ştefan Zăhărescu got control of the ball when Ciprian Manolache tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Dodocani UFC's zone, Liviu Mercescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ştefan Zăhărescu came out of the goal and Liviu Mercescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 62nd minute, Mircea Huidu made a precise shot to the right of Ştefan Zăhărescu. Dodocani UFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. When Ciprian Manolache came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the FCDB fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ciprian Manolache couldn't finish the play. In the 70th minute Liviu Mercescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ştefan Zăhărescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ştefan Zăhărescu was out of position in the 72 minute of play, and Ciprian Manolache capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ciprian Manolache really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. Ciprian Manolache took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ştefan Zăhărescu. Ştefan Zăhărescu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind FCDB's goalkeeper Aurelian Nicea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ştefan Zăhărescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Liviu Mercescu in the 83rd minute of the match. After 84 played minutes Dodocani UFC got a freekick which was hit by Gabriel Alupoaie. A collision led to FCDB getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Vlad Tănase hit a great ball. Dodocani UFC's Ştefan Zăhărescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Dodocani UFC from getting a goal against them. Mircea Huidu took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ştefan Zăhărescu. Ştefan Zăhărescu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-5. If Vlad Tănase had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched FCDB eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
