Spectators: 6769 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1769, VIP seats: 0) Cardaol's Matei Florean started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With an all-out effort, Cardaol's Marcel Calota threw himself towards the right post 5 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Matei Florean, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Denis Nicolcioiu hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Marcel Calota was a little too slow when Matei Florean got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 12th minute. The score was now 1-0. 15 minutes into the match, Straoane's goalkeeper Marcel Calota had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Codruț Protase. When Codruț Protase fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cardaol's protests and gave Codruț Protase a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Cardaol getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Codruț Protase hit a great ball. In the 20th minute, Emilian Iurea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Laurențiu Bobeica recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Cardaol's zone, Sorin Corbeanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rareș Gherghescu came out of the goal and Sorin Corbeanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Laurențiu Bobeica stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Matei Florean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 58th match minute, Straoane was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maxim Barna to maneuver through the defense. Iustin Scaeru kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. In the 78th minute Laurențiu Bobeica shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rareș Gherghescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by George Plopșor during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 84th match minute, Straoane was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by George Plopșor to maneuver through the defense. Nistor Stoica took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 86th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marcel Calota. The Cardaol fans cheered their team off the field, for while Straoane had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
