In the 22ndth minute of the game Mugur Stoicu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Straoane's Marcel Calota was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 26th minute, Denis Nicolcioiu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Denis Nicolcioiu came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Straoane fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Denis Nicolcioiu couldn't finish the play. Toader Doinaș received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Marcel Calota tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Silviu Apostu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Denis Nicolcioiu was the one to do the kick off. Mugur Stoicu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcel Calota having to interfere. The supporters of Borospatak SC booed when Straoane was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moise Teodoroiu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 66th minute, Mugur Stoicu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 69 played minutes Straoane got a freekick which was hit by George Plopșor. Straoane's Marcel Calota proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Straoane from getting a goal against them. Marcel Calota didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Toader Doinaș went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Dragoş Boieru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcel Calota having to interfere. After having played for 89 minutes, Denis Nicolcioiu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Straoane's supporters crossed their fingers, but Denis Nicolcioiu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mugur Stoicu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Borospatak SC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
