Spectators: 7886 (Terracing: 5915, Seating: 1814, VIP seats: 157) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Iulian Taşcău got the match started through his kick off. Ciprian Ailioaiei kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. After 10 played minutes, Atalanta's Iacob Postelnicu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper José Carlos Pombal came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Atalanta reached it. Through an outstanding action, after 12 minutes, Emanuel Geambașu successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Emanuel Geambașu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Iulian Taşcău in the 19th minute. In the 21st minute Aurel Rainea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Carlos Pombal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Costin Cotuțiu got free with Emanuel Geambașu in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The C.s.s. Zalau fans' excitement grew in the 31st match minute when C.s.s. Zalau's Emil Bogatu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 37th minute, Niculae Baran hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 38 minutes into the match, Atalanta's Iacob Postelnicu broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Daniel Răchită received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. José Carlos Pombal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Răchită kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match.

Through an outstanding action, after 52 minutes, José Carlos Pombal successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Emanuel Geambașu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Iulian Taşcău went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. After having played for 58 minutes, Iulian Taşcău managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.s.s. Zalau's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iulian Taşcău was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to C.s.s. Emanuel Geambașu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iulian Taşcău, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Costin Cotuțiu in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emanuel Geambașu saved Atalanta from getting behind. In the 72nd minute, Iulian Taşcău ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Emanuel Geambașu was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Costin Cotuțiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Atalanta booed when C.s.s. Zalau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emil Bogatu didn't get a good kick on the ball. 79 minutes into the game, Emil Bogatu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C.s.s. Zalau's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atalanta the free kick. In the 79th match minute, C.s.s. Zalau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emil Bogatu to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, C.s.s. Zalau's José Carlos Pombal got control of the ball when Aurel Rainea tried to sneak it across the goal line. C.s.s. Zalau's José Carlos Pombal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aurel Rainea in the 85th minute of play. Zalau's zone, Iacob Postelnicu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Carlos Pombal came out of the goal and Iacob Postelnicu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Daniel Răchită managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atalanta's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Răchită was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Carlos Pombal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 95th minute of the game. One of Atalanta:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of C.s.s. Zalau:s goal. In the 96th minute there was a penalty for C.s.s. Zalau. Nechifor Calini stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Emanuel Geambașu. 4-0. C.s.s. Zalau's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
