Emanuel Geambașu made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Răzvan Stolojan sent off a good shot on target. 7 minutes into the match, Atalanta's goal looked a bit too open when Matei Purcărete came free, but Emanuel Geambașu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But to his dismay, Matei Purcărete quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The supporters of Atalanta booed when F C Olt was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iacob Postelnicu in the 18th minute of play forced F C Olt's goalkeeper Ciprian Cojan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the match, F C Olt's goal looked a bit too open when Aurel Rainea came free, but Ciprian Cojan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emanuel Geambașu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matei Purcărete in the 52nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Iacob Postelnicu got free with Ciprian Cojan in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 58 minutes into the game, Aurel Rainea recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ciprian Cojan. Aurel Rainea showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. In the 62nd minute, Iacob Postelnicu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cosmin Blejan hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 68th minute, Atalanta's Daniel Răchită ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ciprian Cojan. Ciprian Cojan yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. 71 minutes into the game, Aurel Rainea cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-5. Ciprian Cojan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 77th minute, Aurel Rainea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ciprian Cojan was a little too slow when Daniel Răchită got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 79th minute. The score was now 1-6. Ciprian Cojan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aurel Rainea, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Matei Purcărete in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emanuel Geambașu saved Atalanta from getting behind. Matei Purcărete struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Emanuel Geambașu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for F C Olt. Atalanta played a much better game than F C Olt and deserved their victory. The F C Olt players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
