After some careless play in the C.s.s. Zalau defense, Sandu Bacalbașa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of José Carlos Pombal. The C.s.s. Zalau fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José Carlos Pombal should have stopped the shot. Ilie Borogeanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iulian Taşcău in the 16th minute of the match. A collision led to CF GRAND VALLE getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Bogdan Bălan hit a great ball. After having played for 19 minutes, Costin Cotuțiu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.s.s. Zalau's supporters crossed their fingers, but Costin Cotuțiu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. José Carlos Pombal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iustin Stoicea in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute Iulian Taşcău shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilie Borogeanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leonard Bodiu hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. When Emil Bogatu fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C.s.s. Zalau's protests and gave Emil Bogatu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to C.s.s. Zalau getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Emil Bogatu hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, CF GRAND VALLE's Leonard Bodiu got a free kick in the 31st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iulian Taşcău in the 32nd minute of play forced CF GRAND VALLE's goalkeeper Ilie Borogeanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of C.s.s. Zalau booed when CF GRAND VALLE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sandu Bacalbașa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 42 minutes into the game, Aurelian Barbăsură cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. José Carlos Pombal was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When Ciprian Ailioaiei fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C.s.s. Zalau's protests and gave Ciprian Ailioaiei a yellow card for diving instead. Ciprian Ailioaiei hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. After 65 minutes of play, C.s.s. Zalau's Iulian Taşcău made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ilie Borogeanu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Horaţiu Aurelianu kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the match, CF GRAND VALLE's Sandu Bacalbașa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that José Carlos Pombal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Sandu Bacalbașa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 75 minutes, Iulian Taşcău managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.s.s.
