Spectators: 6801 (Terracing: 5801, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. In the 4thth minute of the game Aurel Rainea who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Predoni's Tiberiu Baican was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Florin Alexiu's late challenge caught a Predoni's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Florin Alexiu helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Predoni booed when Atalanta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florin Alexiu didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Predoni's Gelu Scaeru in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Atalanta's goalie prevented a goal. Atalanta were furious when Nicu Boaru was red carded, 16 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 15th minute of the game. One of Atalanta:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Predoni:s goal. 19 minutes into the match, Atalanta's goal looked a bit too open when Gelu Scaeru came free, but Emanuel Geambașu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Aristide Datcu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emanuel Geambașu was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. In the 22nd minute, Cosmin Blejan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aristide Datcu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Răchită fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiberiu Baican having to interfere. Daniel Răchită struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Tiberiu Baican didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atalanta. Tiberiu Baican stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Răchită's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. Dorel Nae kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. A throw-in in the 43rd minute of the game was made by Marius Capătă with Cătălin Calomfir as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Emanuel Geambașu came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Predoni's Gelu Scaeru. But to his dismay, Gelu Scaeru quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gelu Scaeru was the one to do the kick off. Tiberiu Baican showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aurel Rainea in the 51st minute of the match. After taking down the ball on Atalanta's corner Iacob Postelnicu fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Tiberiu Baican quite easily take care of the ball. Lucian Cămărășescu kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. In the 56th minute, Gelu Scaeru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 58th minute of the match, Gelu Scaeru got a very nice opportunity to score, but Emanuel Geambașu was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Predoni's Tiberiu Baican played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aurel Rainea in the 65th minute of play. Emanuel Geambașu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aristide Datcu, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, Gelu Scaeru put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Emanuel Geambașu. After 75 played minutes Atalanta got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Răchită. After a rather tough play, Predoni's Gelu Scaeru got a free kick in the 79th minute. Daniel Răchită fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiberiu Baican having to interfere. Emanuel Geambașu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Costică Reznic in the 82nd minute of the match. Emanuel Geambașu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aristide Datcu, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Tiberiu Baican stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aurel Rainea's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. Daniel Răchită sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Atalanta supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Predoni's performance. The match ended with a win for Predoni.
