Cazimir Marincean took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciprian Albu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Panait Nicoliță scored 1-1 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Petruț Brădea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ciprian Albu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ciprian Albu in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cazimir Marincean prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The wind increased when Dinu Gheondea made the kick off in the second half. Horia Micu's late challenge caught a FC POLI TIMISOARA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Horia Micu helped the player get up and apologised. 54 minutes into the match, FC POLI TIMISOARA's goal looked a bit too open when Silviu Jilăveanu came free, but Cazimir Marincean reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Viorel Ilinca kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Liverpool FC's zone, Manuel Culiță stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. With a little luck, Liverpool FC's Petruț Brădea got control of the ball when Robert Nestor tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 67th minute Dinu Gheondea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petruț Brădea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 72 minutes into the game, when Manuel Culiță put in a rough tackle. The referee gave Liverpool FC a penalty, 74 minutes into the game.
