Cezar Alexandru might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cristian Moisil. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cezar Alexandru ran back to his position shaking his head. Emanuel Gheorghe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Cezar Alexandru came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the UFC STEAUA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cezar Alexandru couldn't finish the play. 25 minutes into the game, Leontin Bebeșel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Scornicesti's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave UFC STEAUA the free kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Hermengildo Jobo managed to get in a good position for a shot. The referee gave Leontin Bebeșel a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of UFC STEAUA booed when Scornicesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leontin Bebeșel didn't get a good kick on the ball. João Massa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vasile Acalinei, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cezar Alexandru in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cristian Moisil saved Scornicesti from getting behind. Cezar Alexandru who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 67thth minute tested the skills of Cristian Moisil when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Vasile Acalinei got his second yellow card in the match during the 72nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of UFC STEAUA booed when Scornicesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vasile Acalinei didn't get a good kick on the ball. This resulted in a 0-8 score and a disappointed Cristian Moisil as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 86th play minute Cezar Alexandru came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Cristian Moisil. 0-9. When UFC STEAUA's Cezar Alexandru in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
