An unexpectedly hard shot by Cezar Alexandru in the 3rd minute of play forced Liverpool FC's goalkeeper Petruț Brădea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 5 minutes into the match, Liverpool FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nelson Mendoza came free, but Petruț Brădea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Therkild Prendorf sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 16th minute, Cezar Alexandru made a precise shot to the right of Petruț Brădea. Liverpool FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 22 minutes into the match, Liverpool FC's goal looked a bit too open when Hermengildo Jobo came free, but Petruț Brădea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute, Cezar Alexandru left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The UFC STEAUA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Liverpool FC's Petruț Brădea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cezar Alexandru in the 27th minute of play. Petruț Brădea came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by UFC STEAUA's Cezar Alexandru. But to his dismay, Cezar Alexandru quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Petruț Brădea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Therkild Prendorf in the 38th minute of play. After some careless play in the Liverpool FC defense, Nelson Mendoza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Petruț Brădea. The Liverpool FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Petruț Brădea should have stopped the shot. Petruț Brădea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nelson Mendoza in the 43rd minute of play. Petruț Brădea came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by UFC STEAUA's Hermengildo Jobo. But to his dismay, Hermengildo Jobo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-7. The Liverpool FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. UFC STEAUA were winning 0-7.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ciprian Albu was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, UFC STEAUA's Nelson Mendoza dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-8. 55 minutes into the game, UFC STEAUA's Iosif Călin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Petruț Brădea made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-9. 58 minutes into the game, Hermengildo Jobo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-10. Petruț Brădea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Petruț Brădea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nelson Mendoza in the 62nd minute. João Massa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciprian Albu in the 65th minute of play. Hermengildo Jobo didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 0-11 via right post in the game's 67th minute. UFC STEAUA's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! Petruț Brădea didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 71st minute, which inside left pole to 0-12. 75 minutes into the match, Liverpool FC's goalkeeper Petruț Brădea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hermengildo Jobo. After 85 played minutes Liverpool FC got a freekick which was hit by Tudor Borza. In the 86th minute, Therkild Prendorf reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Petruț Brădea. The goal made the score 0-14. 90 minutes into the match, Nelson Mendoza dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Petruț Brădea, 0-15. The audience was convinced that Ciprian Albu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but João Massa was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. UFC STEAUA played a much better game than Liverpool FC and deserved their victory. The Liverpool FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
