STEAUA BUCURESTI's Eugen Curtean. Eugen Curtean was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cazimir Marincean stood somewhat misplaced when Petre Ganea came free in front of goal and shot 1-1 to the left of him in the 8 minute. Cazimir Marincean showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maksymilian Traczewski in the 11th minute of the match. Cazimir Marincean made an important save on a dangerous shot by Petru Trăistaru in the 12th minute. 15 minutes into the match, F.C. STEAUA BUCURESTI's goal looked a bit too open when Dinu Gheondea came free, but Eugen Curtean reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eugen Curtean made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dinu Gheondea in the 21st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Panait Nicoliță managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC POLI TIMISOARA's supporters rose to their feet, but Panait Nicoliță was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eugen Curtean breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, F.C. STEAUA BUCURESTI's Petre Ganea got a free kick in the 24th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Maksymilian Traczewski kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Cazimir Marincean. That made the score 3-1 in the 30 minute of play. Robert Nestor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugen Curtean having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mehmet Ali Ergönül got free with Cazimir Marincean in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. FC POLI TIMISOARA's Dinu Gheondea got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

Cazimir Marincean made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mehmet Ali Ergönül in the 56th minute of play. In the 62nd minute, Nichifor Benga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, FC POLI TIMISOARA's Albert Stelea got a free kick in the 66th minute. In the 71st minute, Qiao Cheng hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marian Gârniceanu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eugen Curtean read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. The supporters of F.C. STEAUA BUCURESTI booed when FC POLI TIMISOARA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dinu Gheondea didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Qiao Cheng managed to get in a good position for a shot. F.C. STEAUA BUCURESTI's supporters rose to their feet, but Qiao Cheng was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cazimir Marincean breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Mehmet Ali Ergönül had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 83 minutes, Rareș Mazăre mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC POLI TIMISOARA and the F.C. STEAUA BUCURESTI players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 83rd match minute, FC POLI TIMISOARA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rareș Mazăre to maneuver through the defense. Marian Gârniceanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cazimir Marincean came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by F.C. STEAUA BUCURESTI's Mehmet Ali Ergönül. But to his dismay, Mehmet Ali Ergönül quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. F.C. STEAUA BUCURESTI had won after a very even match.
