The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Costică Surdilă took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Codrin Zburlea to make any attempt to save it. Basarab Birișu's late challenge caught a Timisoara 1921's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
