Cazimir Diaconescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nae Maxim to make the kick off. When Radu Ghițulescu fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vargyas's protests and gave Radu Ghițulescu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 57th match minute, Vargyas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Moise Ştoia to maneuver through the defense. Emilian Braru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cazimir Diaconescu having to interfere.
