Gelu Popoacă showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ionică Iureș in the 6th minute of the match. 6 minutes into the match, Ionică Iureș had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gelu Popoacă. Venezia FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ionică Iureș was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 8 minutes into the game, Venezia FC's Mihăiţă Bălășescu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Narcis Pantelimon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Narcis Pantelimon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aurel Șeimeanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mihăiţă Bălășescu in the 13th minute of play forced FC Super Fortuna's goalkeeper Narcis Pantelimon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Narcis Pantelimon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mihăiţă Bălășescu in the 15th minute of the match. When Mugur Martin fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Super Fortuna's protests and gave Mugur Martin a yellow card for diving instead. Mugur Martin hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. If Mihăiţă Bălășescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Venezia FC's Gelu Popoacă played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Virgil Teodoroiu in the 23rd minute of play. Gelu Popoacă came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by FC Super Fortuna's Mugur Martin. But to his dismay, Mugur Martin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. If Mihăiţă Bălășescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Venezia FC booed when FC Super Fortuna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dacian Drâmbă didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, FC Super Fortuna's Albin Frisk got a free kick in the 35th minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Narcis Pantelimon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Virgil Teodoroiu came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the FC Super Fortuna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Virgil Teodoroiu couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Venezia FC booed when FC Super Fortuna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Virgil Teodoroiu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Calistrat Uncheşu kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Gelu Popoacă came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Super Fortuna's Virgil Teodoroiu.
