Dorin Mercea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernabe Servando in the 17th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the match, UFC Piluganii's goal looked a bit too open when Pompiliu Spiridon came free, but Ionel Maghear reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bernabe Servando in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dorin Mercea prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nae Tănăsocă during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 26th minute, Nae Tănăsocă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ionel Maghear made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eugen Ciolacu in the 39th minute. Eugen Ciolacu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Ionel Maghear made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in UFC Piluganii's zone, Pompiliu Spiridon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ionel Maghear came out of the goal and Pompiliu Spiridon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Niculae Ene kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ionel Maghear. That made the score 2-1 in the 46 minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

In the 54th match minute, UFC Piluganii was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Constantin Mitrofan to maneuver through the defense. In the 56th minute, Eugen Ciolacu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Eugen Ciolacu fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Poli Iasi's protests and gave Eugen Ciolacu a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Poli Iasi's Eugen Ciolacu got a free kick in the 56th minute. In the 82nd minute Eugen Ciolacu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ionel Maghear saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pompiliu Spiridon spun around in front of the goal 95 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of UFC Piluganii's goal. Ionel Maghear took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nae Tănăsocă, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. UFC Piluganii's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
