In the 6th minute, Poli Iasi's Pompiliu Spiridon ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nicu Dobre. Nicu Dobre yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Horea Marchidan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Horea Marchidan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Dorin Mercea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eugen Ciolacu got free with Nicu Dobre in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Colteni's goalkeeper Nicu Dobre, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Codruț Gaiță charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Codruț Gaiță the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 35 played minutes Colteni got a freekick which was hit by Codruț Gaiță. Pompiliu Spiridon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicu Dobre having to interfere. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Colteni's goalkeeper Nicu Dobre, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nicu Dobre showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pompiliu Spiridon in the 45th minute of the match. Pompiliu Spiridon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nicu Dobre read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pompiliu Spiridon was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Horea Marchidan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Horea Marchidan struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Dorin Mercea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Colteni. Costin Mazilu charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 57th minute, Eugen Ciolacu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nicu Dobre showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pompiliu Spiridon, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Nicu Dobre showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eugen Ciolacu in the 67th minute of the match. Nicu Dobre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nae Tănăsocă, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Colteni booed when Poli Iasi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiberiu Negură didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 71 played minutes Colteni got a freekick which was hit by Ioan Davidescu. Colteni's Nicu Dobre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pompiliu Spiridon in the 80th minute of play. Flavius Bolcaș recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nicu Dobre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pompiliu Spiridon in the 86th minute of play. In the 88th minute, Eugen Ciolacu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nicu Dobre was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0.
