After 16 played minutes SIERRA CF got a freekick which was hit by Emanuel Chihaia. 19 minutes into the match, SIERRA CF's goal looked a bit too open when Valentin Coșereanu came free, but Cătălin Tadici reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Mihail Harhoiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Nichifor Ghișe fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. After a defensive mix-up in Barbucea's zone, Lucian Horea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivan Hrandabur came out of the goal and Lucian Horea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cătălin Tadici made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valentin Coșereanu in the 40th minute of play. Cătălin Tadici made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Mihail Harhoiu sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of SIERRA CF booed when Barbucea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentin Coșereanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Barbucea's zone, Anton Marinică stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivan Hrandabur came out of the goal and Anton Marinică tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valentin Coșereanu to make the kick off. In the 55th minute of the match Ilie Zbârlea shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cătălin Tadici showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valentin Coșereanu in the 57th minute of play forced SIERRA CF's goalkeeper Cătălin Tadici to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 60 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Laurențiu Plopeanu sped through SIERRA CF's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Cătălin Tadici. 70 minutes into the match, Lucian Horea dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ivan Hrandabur, 2-1. In the 76th minute, SIERRA CF's Tudor Porumboiu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ivan Hrandabur. Ivan Hrandabur yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. The supporters of Barbucea booed when SIERRA CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petrică Herea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ilie Zbârlea took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 80th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cătălin Tadici. SIERRA CF's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 90 minutes into the match, Mihail Harhoiu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cătălin Tadici. SIERRA CF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mihail Harhoiu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2.
