After 6 minutes of play, U Craiova's Horea Frumușanu made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Costin Scutaru was left in no man's land by his defense there! 10 minutes into the match, U Craiova's goal looked a bit too open when Zilar Gavilanes came free, but Nae Pavel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Goanta FC booed when U Craiova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Narcis Silişteanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. When U Craiova's Horea Frumușanu, in the 20th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for U Craiova. 23 minutes into the match, Călin Pamfil notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Goanta FC's Costin Scutaru. The Goanta FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Costin Scutaru should have stopped the shot. After 42 minutes of play, U Craiova's Călin Pamfil made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Costin Scutaru was left in no man's land by his defense there!

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zilar Gavilanes made a kick off. Narcis Silişteanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Costin Scutaru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 55 minutes into the match, Narcis Silişteanu notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Goanta FC's Costin Scutaru. Costin Scutaru was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Călin Pamfil in the 62nd minute of play forced Goanta FC's goalkeeper Costin Scutaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 66 minutes into the match, Goanta FC's goal looked a bit too open when Horea Frumușanu came free, but Costin Scutaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 68th minute, Zilar Gavilanes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Goanta FC's goalkeeper Costin Scutaru, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Costin Scutaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Narcis Silişteanu in the 72nd minute of play. Costin Scutaru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horea Frumușanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Goanta FC's Costin Scutaru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Călin Pamfil in the 77th minute of play. U Craiova's Nae Pavel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrei Oargă in the 90th minute of play. Costin Scutaru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horea Frumușanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. There was no doubt that U Craiova were the better team. U Craiova's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
