Petre Corbuț hit a great ball. The supporters of ASU POLI TIMISOARA booed when Ozana Bucuresti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gigi Ghițescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, ASU POLI TIMISOARA's Denis Fânaru got a free kick in the 23rd minute. In the 34th minute, Cosmin Popean got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Romeo Gușatu made the kick off in the second half. Nicu Oloieru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iulian Sărăroiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Romeo Gușatu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Nicu Oloieru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Horia Humă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 60th match minute, Ozana Bucuresti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cosmin Popean to maneuver through the defense. In the 61st minute Virgil Ardeleanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicu Oloieru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 62 minutes of play, ASU POLI TIMISOARA's Romeo Gușatu made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nicu Oloieru was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 66th minute, Iulian Sărăroiu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ASU POLI TIMISOARA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Ilie Dindelegan struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Horea Chirculescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ozana Bucuresti. Aurel Iordache got a fine position in front of goal ttaking advantage of the opportunity to rumble in 5-1 in the right cross in the 76th match minute before Horea Chirculescu had time to react. 81 minutes into the game, ASU POLI TIMISOARA's Virgil Ardeleanu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nicu Oloieru made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-1. Nicu Oloieru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horia Humă in the 84th minute of the match. 84 minutes into the match, Ozana Bucuresti's goal looked a bit too open when Romeo Gușatu came free, but Nicu Oloieru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
