Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Panait Oprea in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andrei Roman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Andrei Roman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Panait Oprea in the 13th minute of play. Panait Oprea could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Andrei Roman made a huge save. After 18 minutes Girleasa CSM's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Grigore Pădure who took care of the corner kick. A collision led to Girleasa CSM getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Mugurel Crăcană hit a great ball. After 20 played minutes, ionion's Grigore Pădure shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Andrei Roman came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in ionion reached it. In the 22nd match minute, Girleasa CSM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nae Baicea to maneuver through the defense. Andrei Roman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marijan Ojdanić, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. In the 24thth minute of the game Panait Oprea who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Girleasa CSM's Andrei Roman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. ionion's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Grigore Pădure in the 26th minute. Andrei Roman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Panait Oprea in the 27th minute. Andrei Roman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Panait Oprea's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. When ionion's Panait Oprea in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Girleasa CSM's goalie prevented a goal. The referee felt a red card was in order, 42 minutes into the game, when Prudencio Quirce put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 42nd minute of the game. One of Girleasa CSM:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of ionion:s goal. When the match had been going on for 44 minutes, ionion's Grigore Pădure got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Andrei Roman. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Panait Oprea to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Panait Oprea's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Andrei Roman was relentless in the 51st minute of the game. The corner led ionion's Grigore Pădure to fire away a dangerous shot which Andrei Roman despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. ionion's Ştefan Isvoreanu was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Andrei Roman in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. ionion's Ştefan Isvoreanu managed to work through Girleasa CSM's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Ştefan Isvoreanu dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Nae Baicea kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. 90 minutes into the match, Girleasa CSM's goal looked a bit too open when Panait Oprea came free, but Andrei Roman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 91st minute, Ştefan Isvoreanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Panait Oprea in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal.
