Joélson Paiva hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Olympic CF's Dacian Cristoiu got control of the ball when Costin Malcoci tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dacian Cristoiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Lechințan in the 7th minute of the match. In the 8th minute FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt were awarded a corner. Andrei Brănescu went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Valer Perișoară managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After 9 played minutes Olympic CF got a freekick which was hit by Mădălin Bocșan. 14 minutes had been played when some careless play by Olympic CF's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Andrei Brănescu was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's players had a chance to rest. In the 19thth minute of the game Luca Lechințan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Olympic CF's Dacian Cristoiu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Costin Malcoci had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Olympic CF getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Marin Niculescu hit a great ball. Andrei Brănescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joélson Paiva in the 29th minute of play forced FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's goalkeeper Lucrețiu Sfetcu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Olympic CF's Joélson Paiva in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's goalie prevented a goal. Olympic CF were awarded a corner in the 31th minute after FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Horaţiu Dijmărescu took the corner. The corner led Olympic CF's Armağan Özaltan to fire away a dangerous shot which Lucrețiu Sfetcu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Costin Malcoci notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Olympic CF's Dacian Cristoiu. Dacian Cristoiu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Dacian Cristoiu made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Valer Perișoară sent off a good shot on target. Costin Malcoci's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 41stth minute, Dacian Cristoiu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joélson Paiva in the 42nd minute of play forced FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's goalkeeper Lucrețiu Sfetcu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olympic CF's Dacian Cristoiu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Olympic CF from getting a goal against them. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's Adrian Nasta was substituted for Luca Lechințan. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joélson Paiva stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joélson Paiva in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lucrețiu Sfetcu saved FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt from getting behind. Dacian Cristoiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adrian Nasta in the 56th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Adrian Nasta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dacian Cristoiu was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. Lucrețiu Sfetcu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joélson Paiva's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. When FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's Adrian Nasta in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Olympic CF's goalie prevented a goal. Dacian Cristoiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Costin Malcoci in the 68th minute of the match. Dacian Cristoiu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrian Nasta, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt made a substitution. Horia Chioreanu replaced Costin Malcoci. FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's Silviu Latarețu was substituted for Valer Perișoară. After 71 played minutes FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt got a freekick which was hit by Manuel Tunaru. When Armağan Özaltan came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Olympic CF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Armağan Özaltan couldn't finish the play. After 75 minutes, Marin Niculescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Olympic CF and the FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Olympic CF's Marin Niculescu got a free kick in the 75th minute. Leonard Floricel's late challenge caught a Olympic CF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonard Floricel helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Olympic CF booed when FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonard Floricel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dacian Cristoiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horia Chioreanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Adrian Nasta kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. 90 minutes into the match, Olympic CF's goal looked a bit too open when Horia Chioreanu came free, but Dacian Cristoiu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 94th minute Horia Chioreanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dacian Cristoiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Petrică Colceriu during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt booed when Olympic CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petrică Colceriu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olympic CF's Dacian Cristoiu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horia Chioreanu in the 97th minute of play. After 97 minutes of play, FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's Horia Chioreanu made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dacian Cristoiu was left in no man's land by his defense there! FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
