The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 minutes, Toader Diaconescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Orasani and the Sir Alexandria players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Orasani getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. After 15 minutes of play, Orasani's Remus Păstrăv made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bogdan Şimandan was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 18 played minutes Orasani got a freekick which was hit by Hermengildo Toli. In the 20th minute, Tzonyo Viyachki made a precise shot to the right of Jailson Furlan. Orasani's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nistor Popilean in the 23rd minute of play forced Orasani's goalkeeper Jailson Furlan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th minute Remus Păstrăv shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bogdan Şimandan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bogdan Şimandan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hermengildo Toli in the 36th minute of the match. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sir Alexandria's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Damian Prislop was slow to take the kick. During this time Orasani's players had a chance to rest. After 45 played minutes Orasani got a freekick which was hit by Mark Vraning. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Orasani's goalkeeper Jailson Furlan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Sir Alexandria's Nistor Popilean got a free kick in the 47th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
