After a rather tough play, Olympic CF's Liviu Bulcă got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Alexandru Perișoară was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 9 minutes into the match. In the 9th minute, one of F.C Petru B.U.C:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for F.C Petru B.U.C. In the 14th minute, Cristi Sabău hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th minute, Ernesto Esposito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ernesto Esposito recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 26 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Olympic CF's Ernesto Esposito fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. With a little luck, F.C Petru B.U.C's Lucian Popeneciu got control of the ball when Ernesto Esposito tried to sneak it across the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, F.C Petru B.U.C's goalkeeper Lucian Popeneciu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ernesto Esposito. Pompiliu Ghiondea hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Petrică Colceriu during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. F.C Petru B.U.C's Mugur Cotuțiu got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 40 minutes, Francisc Buteanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. F.C Petru B.U.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisc Buteanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Horaţiu Dijmărescu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lucian Popeneciu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Francisc Buteanu was the one to do the kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Olympic CF's goal looked a bit too open when Traian Tâbârnă came free, but Dacian Cristoiu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lucian Popeneciu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ernesto Esposito's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. If Traian Tâbârnă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Olympic CF's Dacian Cristoiu got control of the ball when Francisc Buteanu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lucian Popeneciu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ernesto Esposito's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mădălin Bocșan during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Mădălin Bocșan kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. In the 88th minute Traian Tâbârnă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dacian Cristoiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ernesto Esposito in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lucian Popeneciu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Francisc Buteanu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Dacian Cristoiu made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Olympic CF's Mădălin Bocșan got a free kick in the 94th minute. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
