David Turlea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusebiu Barbă, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eusebiu Barbă received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. David Turlea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benedicto Santikurtz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ioan Bucur in the 7th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mugur Stan in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benedicto Santikurtz saved Fulgerul Braila from getting behind. Teodor Unchiaşu in the 15thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Benedicto Santikurtz, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eusebiu Barbă in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck David Turlea prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Martin Chiru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ivar Olsson came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Fulgerul Braila fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivar Olsson couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Eusebiu Barbă's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but David Turlea was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Zimnicea's Ştefan Cobâlcescu got a free kick in the 39th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
The wind increased when Ivar Olsson made the kick off in the second half. Martin Chiru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. The referee ignored Fulgerul Braila's protests and gave Matei Bulgar a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivar Olsson in the 62nd minute of play forced Zimnicea's goalkeeper David Turlea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Eusebiu Barbă took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for David Turlea to make any attempt to save it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eusebiu Barbă got free with David Turlea in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ioan Bucur scored 2-1 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benedicto Santikurtz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
