The audience thought a goal was coming when Leonardo Saldanha got free with Vlad Covrig in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leontin Birișu in the 7th minute of play forced PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goalkeeper Vlad Covrig to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vlad Covrig made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anthony Ryf in the 8th minute of play. Leontin Birișu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Vlad Covrig made a huge save. After 14 played minutes FC RAPID TÂRGOVIȘTE got a freekick which was hit by Mădălin Buga. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's defense didn't have a chance, in the 16th minute, when Anthony Ryf scored to the left of an out of position Vlad Covrig, making the score, 1-0. In the 20th minute of the match, Anthony Ryf got a very nice opportunity to score, but Vlad Covrig was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emil Amuguroancei during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Emil Amuguroancei kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. After 23 minutes, Anthony Ryf made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Anthony Ryf ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to FC RAPID TÂRGOVIȘTE's Leontin Birișu getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Fabian Mihuleac hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adrian Bârsan made a kick off. Thanks to some nice moves Mircea Jupân could shoot a difficult shot in the 51st minute, which Marius Nicodim however easily saved by the left post. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Vlad Covrig played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leontin Birișu in the 59th minute of play. After 64 played minutes PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca got a freekick which was hit by Eric Astafei. In the 69th minute Anthony Ryf shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vlad Covrig saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vlad Covrig made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iacob Jucan in the 89th minute of play. After a rather tough play, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Tiberiu Rotariu got a free kick in the 91st minute. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Vlad Covrig played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anthony Ryf in the 93rd minute of play. There was no doubt that FC RAPID TÂRGOVIȘTE were the better team. FC RAPID TÂRGOVIȘTE's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
