Augustin Lovinescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 5th minute Ştefan Cobâlcescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiberiu Cutean saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 7th minute, Waclaw Smolak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tiberiu Cutean showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teodor Unchiaşu in the 10th minute of the match. Augustin Lovinescu's late challenge caught a FC BOTOSANI - BTF.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Augustin Lovinescu helped the player get up and apologised. Tiberiu Cutean came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Zimnicea's Teodor Unchiaşu. But to his dismay, Teodor Unchiaşu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 29 minutes into the match, Zimnicea's goal looked a bit too open when Waclaw Smolak came free, but David Turlea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Teodor Unchiaşu in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tiberiu Cutean prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 44 minutes into the match, Zimnicea's Mugur Stan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tiberiu Cutean narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Teodor Unchiaşu in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tiberiu Cutean prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Teodor Unchiaşu to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, FC BOTOSANI - BTF.'s Leonard Jupâneanu got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 53rd minute, Göksun Kadrettin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC BOTOSANI - BTF. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. After 56 minutes of play, Zimnicea's Martin Chiru made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tiberiu Cutean was left in no man's land by his defense there! David Turlea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Octav Mușat, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 71st minute, Waclaw Smolak ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. David Turlea was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-2. Alexis Grebenchukov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Turlea having to interfere. When FC BOTOSANI - BTF.'s Octav Mușat in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Göksun Kadrettin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Turlea having to interfere. Tiberiu Cutean made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodor Unchiaşu in the 94th minute of play. There was no doubt that FC BOTOSANI - BTF. were the better team. FC BOTOSANI - BTF.'s players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
