In the 10th minute, Progresul Pitesti's Karol Czempa dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Martin Tudor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zula Pankowski in the 14th minute of the match. Ovidiu Oniga charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Martin Tudor stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Iustinian Elefterescu's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iustinian Elefterescu in the 33rd minute of play forced Progresul Pitesti's goalkeeper Martin Tudor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 34 minutes into the match, Progresul Pitesti's goal looked a bit too open when Zula Pankowski came free, but Martin Tudor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind -BZF-Magica Steaua's goalkeeper Rutenio Guzmán, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 89 played minutes -BZF-Magica Steaua got a freekick which was hit by Iustinian Elefterescu. If Vasile Blănaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Progresul Pitesti's Martin Tudor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donato Ugaitz in the 94th minute of play. -BZF-Magica Steaua were awarded a corner in the 96th minute after Progresul Pitesti's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ferdinand Iovanovici took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Progresul Pitesti's goalie and right to Donato Ugaitz. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Progresul Pitesti's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. -BZF-Magica Steaua's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
