The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Traian Tâlvescu during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, FC Moshu Sibiu's Traian Tâlvescu got a free kick in the 3rd minute. A collision led to FC Moshu Sibiu getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Robert Florea hit a great ball. In the 9th minute of the match Cristinel Bogdan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ramiro Grabiel skillfully saved the ball. Lino Gabler was a little too slow when Mădălin Ducu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 10th minute. The score was now 1-0. Aurel Miniș charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aurel Miniș the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 12th match minute, Explosiv Cluj-Napoca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aurel Miniș to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leonard Aelenei got free with Lino Gabler in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mădălin Ducu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Lino Gabler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Mădălin Ducu managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Moshu Sibiu's supporters rose to their feet, but Mădălin Ducu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lino Gabler breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mădălin Ducu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 23rd minute, Leonard Aelenei left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Moshu Sibiu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. 30 minutes into the game, Leonard Aelenei cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Lino Gabler was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mădălin Ducu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lino Gabler having to make a save. 37 minutes into the game, Leonard Aelenei recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lino Gabler. Leonard Aelenei showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-0. Ramiro Grabiel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodor Ciuvică in the 42nd minute of play. Jimmy James made in the 45th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by FC Moshu Sibiu's Robert Florea. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

After 53 minutes, Felix Bute mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Moshu Sibiu and the Explosiv Cluj-Napoca players grew even worse after the yellow card. Felix Bute kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Explosiv Cluj-Napoca's Albino Remigio shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 54th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Ramiro Grabiel but with some difficulty. The supporters of FC Moshu Sibiu booed when Explosiv Cluj-Napoca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Irinel Rădulescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to FC Moshu Sibiu getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Haroldo Peres hit a great ball. If Leonard Aelenei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Explosiv Cluj-Napoca's zone, Leonard Aelenei stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lino Gabler came out of the goal and Leonard Aelenei tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lino Gabler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mădălin Ducu, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Remus Ionaș hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. 70 minutes into the match, Explosiv Cluj-Napoca's goal looked a bit too open when Leonard Aelenei came free, but Lino Gabler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 73 minutes into the match, FC Moshu Sibiu's goalkeeper Ramiro Grabiel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vlad Zgîrţa. Lino Gabler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonard Aelenei in the 77th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Explosiv Cluj-Napoca's Vlad Zgîrţa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ramiro Grabiel. That made the score 4-1 after 84 minutes of play. Leonard Aelenei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lino Gabler having to interfere. 88 minutes into the game, FC Moshu Sibiu's Mădălin Ducu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lino Gabler made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. Explosiv Cluj-Napoca's Lino Gabler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonard Aelenei in the 91st minute of play. Mădălin Ducu scored 6-1 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lino Gabler, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
