Mugurel Albescu charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mugurel Albescu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 3 minutes into the game, one of ABR RAHOVA:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. A collision led to ABR RAHOVA getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Niculae Ichim hit a great ball. 11 minutes into the match, UMF IASI's goal looked a bit too open when Niculae Ichim came free, but Gabriel Beniuc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabian Pantelimon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Calle Arensberg having to interfere. In the 20th minute Fabian Pantelimon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Calle Arensberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 21 minutes into the game, Fabian Pantelimon recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Calle Arensberg. Fabian Pantelimon showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. UMF IASI were awarded a corner in the 27th minute after ABR RAHOVA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jens Blomqvist took the corner. UMF IASI's Jens Blomqvist was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Calle Arensberg in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 34 minutes into the game, ABR RAHOVA's Niculae Ichim nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gabriel Beniuc made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Gabriel Beniuc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niculae Ichim, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. In the 40th minute Fabian Pantelimon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Calle Arensberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Franciszek Serwach made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 42ndth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Calle Arensberg would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. After some careless play in the UMF IASI defense, Șerban Miclovan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gabriel Beniuc. The UMF IASI fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gabriel Beniuc should have stopped the shot. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Fabian Pantelimon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. ABR RAHOVA's Calle Arensberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabian Pantelimon in the 56th minute of play. UMF IASI's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jens Blomqvist in the 57th minute. Fabian Pantelimon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Calle Arensberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. ABR RAHOVA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jens Blomqvist ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 81st minute, ABR RAHOVA's Niculae Ichim dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-4. Calle Arensberg came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by UMF IASI's Fabian Pantelimon. But to his dismay, Fabian Pantelimon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-4. In the 88th minute of the match Jens Blomqvist shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Calle Arensberg showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Franciszek Serwach came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the UMF IASI fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Franciszek Serwach couldn't finish the play. 92 minutes into the match, UMF IASI's goal looked a bit too open when Șerban Miclovan came free, but Gabriel Beniuc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 94th minute, Gigio Doro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
