If Tautrimas Čepulis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Sever Tomulescu put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Alin Curtean. After a defensive mix-up in Atletico Nervozel's zone, Otsoa Manzardo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alin Curtean came out of the goal and Otsoa Manzardo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alin Curtean was a little too slow when Sever Tomulescu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 19th minute. The score was now 3-0. After a rather tough play, Fc Universitatea Cluj's Sever Tomulescu got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Eduard Văidianu walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After a rather tough play, Atletico Nervozel's Romeo Boldur got a free kick in the 32nd minute. 35 minutes into the match, Atletico Nervozel's goalkeeper Alin Curtean had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sever Tomulescu. Otsoa Manzardo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Alin Curtean tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Diederick Englebert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 43rd minute, Otsoa Manzardo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fc Universitatea Cluj fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marius Herescu was the one to do the kick off. Gigi Jugănaru's late challenge caught a Fc Universitatea Cluj's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gigi Jugănaru helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Fc Universitatea Cluj booed when Atletico Nervozel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gigi Jugănaru didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sever Tomulescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sever Tomulescu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alin Curtean having to make a save. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Atletico Nervozel's goalkeeper Alin Curtean, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 62 minutes into the match, Atletico Nervozel's Marius Herescu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ernest Inculeț narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fc Universitatea Cluj's Sever Tomulescu got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alin Curtean took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Pacuraru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alin Curtean showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tautrimas Čepulis, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Sever Tomulescu scored 7-0 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alin Curtean, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 80 minutes into the match, Otsoa Manzardo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alin Curtean. Atletico Nervozel's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Otsoa Manzardo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-0. Atletico Nervozel's Alin Curtean played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Otsoa Manzardo in the 85th minute of play. Sever Tomulescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alin Curtean having to interfere. Fc Universitatea Cluj's Diederick Englebert got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
