Spectators: 8035 (Terracing: 6027, Seating: 1848, VIP seats: 160) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Edgar Onea kicked off to start the match. The audience was convinced that Mihai Grozuță's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dinu Săvoiu was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, FC Arges Dacia Pitesti's Daniel Dawiec got a free kick in the 25th minute. POLI TIMISOARA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Arges Dacia Pitesti the free kick. Zdzislaw Hajder hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. A collision led to POLI TIMISOARA getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Mihai Obregia hit a great ball. Panait Moldovan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dinu Săvoiu having to make a save. FC Arges Dacia Pitesti's Herbert Rostow was substituted for Pompiliu Popilean.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mihai Grozuță to make the kick off. POLI TIMISOARA's Dinu Săvoiu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mihai Grozuță in the 53rd minute of play. In the 57th minute, Panait Moldovan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dinu Săvoiu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. If Mihai Dumitrachescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isidor Quintarnaya didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edgar Onea went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. In the 73rd minute of the match, Mihai Grozuță tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dinu Săvoiu saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Isidor Quintarnaya made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Csaba Müller in the 77th minute of play. Călin Hulubei charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Călin Hulubei the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Răzvan Florescu struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Dinu Săvoiu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Arges Dacia Pitesti. Mihai Dumitrachescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 89th minute Zdzislaw Hajder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isidor Quintarnaya saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dinu Săvoiu made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Mihai Grozuță sent off a good shot on target. 95 minutes into the game, Mihai Grozuță cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-6. Dinu Săvoiu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. FC Arges Dacia Pitesti's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
