When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Iurie Praporgescu put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Raşit Özdilek. Gică Nestor didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gabriel-Omar Batistuta went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score.
