Costin Stănculescu was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Basarab Arotăriței. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ionică Vârlan in the 19th minute of play forced FC Berea's goalkeeper Dacian Iurea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gheorghe Penescu hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Adam Posteucă received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Costin Stănculescu came out and tried to block the shot, but Adam Posteucă slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 22nd minute. 26 minutes into the match, FC Berea's goal looked a bit too open when Ştefan Costin came free, but Dacian Iurea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Octavian Simuţ fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Berea's protests and gave Octavian Simuţ a yellow card for diving instead. After 27 played minutes FC Berea got a freekick which was hit by Octavian Simuţ. Dacian Iurea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ionică Vârlan in the 30th minute of play. Dacian Iurea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gică Tapalagă in the 31st minute of the match. When Iustinian Focșa fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Adevarul Pur's protests and gave Iustinian Focșa a yellow card for diving instead. In the 32nd match minute, Adevarul Pur was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iustinian Focșa to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Adevarul Pur getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Grigore Nichitelea hit a great ball. FC Berea's Basarab Arotăriței got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Costin Stănculescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adam Posteucă, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ionică Vârlan was the one to do the kick off. Costin Stănculescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toader Buzoianu, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Costin Stănculescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Octavian Simuţ in the 57th minute of the match. Filip Călimanescu was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 59th minute. Adevarul Pur's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The supporters of Adevarul Pur booed when FC Berea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petrică Gherghe didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 69th minute, Adevarul Pur's Filip Călimanescu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. FC Berea's Dacian Iurea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ionică Vârlan in the 80th minute of play. After some careless play in the FC Berea defense, Filip Călimanescu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dacian Iurea. The FC Berea fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dacian Iurea should have stopped the shot. The supporters of FC Berea booed when Adevarul Pur was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Grigore Nichitelea didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 88 minutes into the game, when Iwo Madej put in a rough tackle. 87 minutes into the game, one of FC Berea:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 89 minutes, Adevarul Pur's Andrei Mihăescu got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Dacian Iurea. Gică Tapalagăs short, quick shot in the 92ndth minute got Dacian Iurea to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Adam Posteucă received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Costin Stănculescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
