Petru Vernescu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Grigore Rânceanu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Liverpool booed when The Wolf’s was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. The Wolf’s's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Liverpool the free kick. Ernest Enciu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Petru Vernescu in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Grigore Rânceanu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 85 minutes, the score became 6-0 when Petru Vernescu sped through Liverpool's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Grigore Rânceanu. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. The Wolf’s had played much better football throughout.
