Ionel Gâlcă took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damazy Szotek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. UNIREA FOCSANI's Ionel Gâlcă proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save UNIREA FOCSANI from getting a goal against them. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When Vali Bujor fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rapid Bãneasa's protests and gave Vali Bujor a yellow card for diving instead. Ferdinand Medrea took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 75th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Grigore Encuțu. Rapid Bãneasa's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 77thth minute of the game Mircea Casian who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but UNIREA FOCSANI's Ionel Gâlcă was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, UNIREA FOCSANI's Ferdinand Medrea got a free kick in the 78th minute. Irinel Vornicu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ferdinand Medrea hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Rapid Bãneasa were furious when Lucas Van Ghele was red carded, 82 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 83rd match minute, Rapid Bãneasa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucas Van Ghele to maneuver through the defense. 84 minutes into the match, Rapid Bãneasa's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Trifănucă came free, but Grigore Encuțu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 85th minute Viorel Brănet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grigore Encuțu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Irinel Vornicu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ionel Gâlcă stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Herbert Schutt's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. The supporters of Rapid Bãneasa booed when UNIREA FOCSANI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Trifănucă didn't get a good kick on the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Rapid Bãneasa's goalkeeper Grigore Encuțu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alan Eenmaa. Rapid Bãneasa were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of UNIREA FOCSANI for a fine match.
