Ferdinand Amurăriței breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 6 minutes into the match, Jacinto Romero dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ferdinand Amurăriței, 1-0. Champions Iasi's Pontus Fagrell managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Per Fernström in the 9 minute of the game. With his leg Ferdinand Amurăriței managed to avoid a goal in the 10thth minute, when Champions Iasi's Jacinto Romero fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ferdinand Amurăriței came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Champions Iasi's Remington Dobson. But to his dismay, Remington Dobson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Eagles Sibiu's goalkeeper Ferdinand Amurăriței, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. FC Eagles Sibiu's Ferdinand Amurăriței proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save FC Eagles Sibiu from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Remington Dobson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ferdinand Amurăriței was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. After 47 minutes FC Eagles Sibiu's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Isac Muntian who took care of the corner kick. Champions Iasi's Basarab Alexandru was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ferdinand Amurăriței in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Octav Tudoran was the one to do the kick off. FC Eagles Sibiu's Ferdinand Amurăriței played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remington Dobson in the 53rd minute of play. Ferdinand Amurăriței took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacinto Romero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jacinto Romero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jacinto Romero in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ferdinand Amurăriței saved FC Eagles Sibiu from getting behind. Ferdinand Amurăriței stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jacinto Romero's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. When Champions Iasi's Remington Dobson in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Eagles Sibiu's goalie prevented a goal. Octav Tudoran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Rouven Nussli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC Eagles Sibiu's Octav Boc was substituted for Gavril Donose. When FC Eagles Sibiu's Maraman Belo, in the 96th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for FC Eagles Sibiu. FC Eagles Sibiu's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
