Eduardo Pereyra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carter Scudieri in the 40th minute of play. Anton Tăutu was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 44 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 44th minute of the game. One of New York Red Bulls:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Real Mangalia - BTF:s goal. Eduardo Pereyra had in the 47thth minute some difficulties stopping Codrin Zogreanu's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.

Real Mangalia - BTF were awarded a corner in the 72th minute after New York Red Bulls's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Codrin Zogreanu took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Peio Bouzas heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Peio Bouzas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eduardo Pereyra read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. 78 minutes into the game, Jens-Uwe Schram threw the ball into play from the sideline. New York Red Bulls's Cristinel Alamaru quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. George Schiau's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mikhail Bannikov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Real Mangalia - BTF's zone, Marian Balint stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mikhail Bannikov came out of the goal and Marian Balint tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After taking down the ball on Real Mangalia - BTF's corner Iulian Pavelescu fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Eduardo Pereyra quite easily take care of the ball. New York Red Bulls's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
